Our Mission
Instinctive Dog Trainers Association has a simple mission. To educate, support and encourage dog trainers all over the world.
What is INSTINCTIVE DOG TRAINING & why is it important?
Unlike humans who are guided by intellect and emotion, dogs rely on instincts. Dogs are pack animals. A pack is a family and each member knows their role. There is a leader and followers. They utilize rules, boundaries, and limits. Understanding dogs and learning to communicate the way they need is essential for effective training.
IDTA has been established to bring together a community of dog trainers who have a passion for instinctive dog training.
EDUCATE & CERTIFY
Our Newsletters contain valuable dog training insight and stories. You’ll receive an invitation to our annual training conference for hands-on experience utilizing instinctive training methods. Experience shows that meaningful dog training certification is earned by handling live dogs under the direct guidance of a fully qualified instructor. This cannot be learned by viewing online classes. If you would like to get IDTA certified, we will send a trainer to you for a 3-day intensive one-on-one training and basic level certification.
